Rapid Med Urgent Care Center is currently seeking a flexible and driven Lead Medical Assistant to join our award-winning team (Best of Denton County since 2013). We have a dynamic, friendly work environment where patient care is of the highest priority. The ideal candidate should be comfortable in a clinical care setting, willing to be a team player, reliable, and patient-focused.

Job Purpose

The back office Lead Medical Assistant (MA) role is to provide clinical support to the Physician, Physician Assistant, or Nurse Practitioner in examination and treatment of patients. The Lead Medical Assistant is required to perform all duties of the Medical Assistant and functions as the resource person to the non-certified staff. Also, the lead acts as a liaison between management and staff. The Lead Medical Assistant assists in some practices with patient care providing first level counseling to staff. Keeps management apprised of early personal issues.

Your work days are not consistent so must have full availability 7 days a week. Must be able to work evenings, rotating weekends and holidays. Being able to relocate between our various centers is required.

duties & responsibilities include, but are not limited to

  • Oversee and manage clinical flow, the interaction of all clinical staff, and all daily functions.
  • Ensure all MA’s provide quality medical treatment
  • Inspire fellow team members to go above and beyond for patients
  • Promote a positive work environment where teamwork is encouraged
  • Manage and train MA’s to continually improve performance and skill level during appropriate times
  • Ability to direct and delegate tasks to MA’s, while able to take direction from management
  • Manage and document back office inventory
  • Perform general equipment troubleshooting
  • Responsible for completion of all shift duties that need to be performed each day
  • Responsible for being on call
  • Triage patients
  • Perform intakes and initial vital signs
  • Collect and process lab specimens
  • Conduct drug tests
  • Assist with wound care
  • Assist with suture removal
  • Administer injections
  • EKG
  • Ear wax removal
  • Phlebotomy (basic)
  • X-Ray
  • Casting/Splinting
  • IV (basic)
  • Assist with additional procedures

  • Must be able to prioritize in a fast paced, high volume environment.
